(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — This week, the Washington Post reported that RFK Jr. meddled in an Iowa Congressional race. In a bombshell audio recording, RFK Jr. is caught on tape cutting backroom deals to keep Republicans in power. In response, 314 Action Executive Director Erik Polyak released the following statement
“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the nation’s top health official, and he just got caught on tape using that office to run political errands for a panicked White House. By his own admission, he’d rather cut backroom deals to keep Republicans in power than do his job. He’s playing fast and loose with The Hatch Act and it only reinforces how scared the Trump White House is of losing its Republican majority in Congress.
“Here’s why RFK Jr. is making these calls instead of doing his job: he knows the MAHA agenda is unpopular: gutting health care, defunding scientific research, and sowing doubt in vaccines is a losing strategy with voters. Trump and RFK Jr. are terrified of a Democratic House with subpoena power because they know what an honest accounting of their record would show. Kennedy said it himself — he doesn’t want to spend the next two years answering for what he’s done.
“The scientists, doctors, and public health professionals 314 Action is electing up and down the ticket got into this fight to repair the damage RFK Jr. has wrought, and they will make him answer for every bit of it.”
