(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — Today, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared before the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP). In response, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:
“RFK Jr. has spent the past week breathlessly defending his anti-vax record and distorting reality. He has shown total contempt and cruelty for the health of Americans and has no fidelity to the truth.”
“The damage he has done to America’s public agencies will take years, if not decades, to repair and as long as RFK Jr. remains health secretary—he will continue to put every American’s health at risk. More children will die from preventable diseases, more hospitals and rural clinics will close and more Americans will lose health care.
“The only path to delivering real accountability, restoring funding and rebuilding public health infrastructure is by electing Democratic scientists and doctors to Congress this November. RFK Jr. is a political liability in the midterms and a threat to our nation’s health and prosperity—and that’s the message 314 Action will be taking to voters this fall.”
