Cancer and Alzheimer’s Research

Every year, more than half a million Americans lose their lives from cancer — it’s the second leading cause of death for Americans. Seven million Americans are living with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Within the first 100 days of his confirmation, RFK Jr. made the largest cuts to cancer research in American history and eliminated 3,000 disease research projects. A majority of Americans are worried about research into cures for diseases being cut — but one of RFK Jr.’s first actions as Health and Human Services Secretary was slashing life-saving cancer and Alzheimer’s research, ending clinical trials for patients and forcing scientists to abandon critical breakthroughs.

Vaccine Safety

During RFK Jr.’s confirmation hearing, he promised not to make any changes to the CDC’s Vaccine Advisory Committee or the vaccine schedule. He lied and broke his promise. In May 2025, he fired and replaced all 17 members of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) with known anti-vaccine activists to push his agenda. In August 2025, he restricted eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccines that saved more than 3 million Americans and canceled $500 million in vaccine research and development projects.

As Americans die from preventable diseases, RFK Jr. is increasing his attacks on the safety of vaccines. He’s weaponized the nation’s most powerful vaccine committee to endorse his conspiracy theories and to weaken America’s immunization schedule.

Autism

Since taking office, RFK Jr. has claimed he’s found the cause of autism and spread false data about the prevalence of the condition among children in America. As Health and Human Services Secretary, RFK Jr. has slashed scientific research into its causes and treatments, said people with autism will ‘never play baseball’ or ‘go out on a date’, and has suggested vaccines are to blame for the development of the disorder.

In April 2025, he ordered the creation of a national registry for Americans with autism, “utilizing insurance claims, electronic medical records, and data from wearable devices with health sensors, like smartwatches” to “produce autism studies” directed by a discredited vaccine researcher.

Medicaid

Medicaid provides health insurance for 1 in 5 Americans. Roughly half of all children in the U.S. rely on Medicaid, and 60% of seniors in nursing homes depend on the program. Despite a majority of Americans opposing cuts to Medicaid, RFK Jr. encouraged Republicans to gut the Health and Human Services budget, slashing $1 trillion from Medicaid to pay for billionaire tax cuts — allowing the largest cuts to Medicaid in American history to pass.

As a result, 17 million Americans are expected to lose their healthcare, over 700 rural hospitals are in danger of closing, health premiums could rise by 75% and research scientists estimate 51,000 Americans are expected to die of preventable causes each year. No one should die because they couldn’t receive care.
